WAM SYSTEMS TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES AND TRENDS FROM ITS ONGOING INDUSTRY BENCHMARKING PROGRAM AS IT RETURNS TO HOST LOGICHEM USA 2008
Insight from hundreds of hours of interviews with supply chain planning teams in the process industry will be shared at supply chain planning conference

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA - June 24, 2008 — WAM Systems, a leading provider of supply chain planning solutions to the process industry, today announced that it is returning for a fourth consecutive year as host of LogiChem USA. New to its agenda as host this year will be a presentation of findings from the company’s ongoing benchmarking program—an interview-based analysis of the operations and best practices of supply chain planning teams from companies throughout the process industry.

“For the last few years, we have been engaged in a series of conversations with planning professionals throughout the world, discussing their existing planning landscapes and analyzing their forward-thinking strategies”, said John Kamal, COO of WAM Systems. “To date we’ve surveyed well over 200 companies and have gathered a very deep level of understanding into the specific types of challenges facing their planning executives. While there are strong similarities in the problems that they must address—globalization, transportation costs, increasing pressure from customers—what’s really interesting is the variety of approaches to improving business workflows and implementing new technologies to adapt to such demanding environments. We’ve seen some very unique solutions at work and have identified key trends in how companies are prioritizing communication and collaboration issues to solve their problems. In addition, as a long-time advisor to the industry, we’ve been able to share some of our findings with companies who continue to struggle to improve.”

Adding to WAM’s benchmarking data will be results from a newly-revised online complementary survey, co-sponsored by the LogiChem conference and crafted by WAM to serve in support of its larger benchmarking program. “This is the first year that we are coordinating the online benchmarking survey for LogiChem,” said conference chair and WAM Systems CEO, Jack Weiss. “By working closely with their conference team, we were able to create a very strong, supportive benchmarking survey that will engage the larger audience of LogiChem attendees. We will then take the results of the online survey and merge them with our own survey results to present the latest analysis of trends in the industry.”

While WAM Systems does not disclose the names of companies who participate in its benchmarking program, it does present trends and demographics that describe the ways in which companies are functioning in the industry. This year’s LogiChem USA 2008 conference in Atlanta, Georgia will serve as a high profile platform from which to share some of the key findings.
