WAM SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RECORD 2008 PERFORMANCE
Leading Supply Chain Solution Provider Continues Charting Solid Year Over Year Growth
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — February 17, 2009 — WAM Systems, a leading provider of supply chain planning solutions to the process industry, today announced highlights from its fiscal year ended December 31, 2008.
The company continued its strong growth in 2008 with an 80% increase in new sales over the previous year. Record revenue levels were up sharply fueled by increases in new projects across a number of geographies and verticals. WAM Systems' CEO, Jack Weiss, attributed the increase to WAM’s strong competitive position and expanded global reach. "Although many of the industries we serve are facing challenges, more companies than ever are investing in solutions to increase their competitiveness in difficult times”, said Weiss. “There has also been a strong surge in companies realizing that their ERP solutions and ERP-related planning tools have come up short in providing real planning solutions.”
While maintaining solid traction in pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage, and consumer packaged goods, the company realized substantial revenues from its core verticals of chemicals and oil & gas. Leading projects include:
- Sasol Oil – a global leader in mining, energy, chemicals and synthetic fuels implementing WAM’s integrated tactical and strategic planning platform
- Banner Pharmacaps – a global drug delivery and specialty pharmaceutical company targeting improved production efficiency and reduced operating costs
- Americas Styrenics LLC – a joint venture owned by The Dow Chemical Company and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP using WAM’s solution to achieve global visibility to its supply chain operations
- Oxea – a leading supplier of oxo-chemical products and olefin derivatives supporting a three year project to strengthen global production, inventory management and operational visibility
- Lion Oil – a producer of gasoline, diesel fuel, solvents, asphalts and coatings targeting workflow and technology enhancements to the company’s production planning and scheduling processes
- Pilot Chemical – a global specialty chemical manufacturer focused on improved production scheduling and inventory planning
- PetroChina – an expansion project delivering increased visibility and performance optimization to the largest producer of crude oil and natural gas in China
“WAM has been focused on maintaining a high-quality, local presence for its customers throughout the Americas, EMEA and Asian markets", said Weiss. "This past year, we have added strategic international partners in these regions who provide critical insight and support customers in our target verticals.”
Highlighted partner network additions include South-African based Rifleshot Performance Holdings whose focus includes the manufacturing, mining, metals and utilities markets, Hyperion Systems Engineering, Ltd., a systems engineering solution provider headquartered in Greece, and Ortems S.A.S., producers of advanced planning and detailed scheduling solutions based in France.
WAM’s annual conference, Insight 2008, was held in October of this past year welcoming process industry veterans from its worldwide community of customers and affiliates. The company also maintained high visibility in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries through its continued sponsorship and chairing of leading events, including WBR’s LogiChem conferences in Europe and the United States as well as LogiPharma US hosted in Philadelphia.
With strong momentum in projects throughout its target markets, the company looks forward to a 2009 that will see continued growth within accounts in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and consumer packaged goods industries.
