PETRO RABIGH TO DEPLOY WAM SYSTEMS' PLANNING SOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ITS NEW PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA. — March 24, 2009 — WAM Systems, a leading provider of supply chain planning solutions designed for process manufacturers, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to implement its Picaso™ supply chain planning solution in support of Petro Rabigh’s integrated petrochemical complex in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

From clothing to credit cards, mobile phones to artificial limbs, seat belts to detergents—petrochemicals are everywhere we look and a part of everything we do. As a commodity, they are an indispensable aspect of modern life; as an industry, they represent opportunities for limitless economic growth. Located in the Red Sea town of Rabigh, about an hour’s drive north of Jeddah, the Petro Rabigh petrochemical complex aims to capitalize on these opportunities, and in doing so firmly establish Saudi Arabia as the global hub for the burgeoning petrochemical sector.

Picaso was chosen because of WAM’s depth of industry expertise, superior solutions, and because it represented a natural extension of the comprehensive refinery planning and scheduling project with Honeywell Process Solutions. Picaso will help business users to manage all of the polymer and monomer units in the petrochemical plant. The project includes integration with both SAP® ERP and the Production Information Management System from Invensys. In addition, Picaso is expected to provide better visibility and control over monomer inventory usage by coordinating export vessel liftings and downstream polymer reactor schedules.

“We are delighted to have been entrusted by Petro Rabigh to support their program to establish world-class operations in all facets of their supply chain,” said WAM’s VP of Industry Solutions, TC Baker. “We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with our colleagues at Petro Rabigh and Honeywell.” The project kick-off meetings were hosted by Honeywell in their Wiesbaden offices. The project team will quickly shift to Rabigh to set up servers and perform system integration activities. The project is expected to be completed within six months.

About Petro Rabigh
Launched in September 2005 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical, the US$10 billion Petro Rabigh plant is the largest integrated oil refinery and petrochemical production facility ever built at one time, and one of the most sophisticated plants of its kind in the world. By converting oil products into petrochemical commodities, Petro Rabigh will help pave the way for a boom in conversion, manufacturing, retail and countless related industries. This diversification will, in turn, lead to employment opportunities for Saudis and make a significant contribution to the country’s GDP.
