FMC CORPORATION SELECTS WAM SYSTEMS’ SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING SOLUTION TO OPTIMIZE ITS PEROXYGENS BUSINESS
Project to Deliver Optimized S&OP for Increased Profitability
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA. — June 23, 2009 — WAM Systems, a leading provider of supply chain planning solutions designed for process manufacturers, today announced that its Picaso™ solution will optimize the sales and operations planning of FMC Corporation’s peroxygens business.
The initiative focuses on FMC’s Peroxygens Division headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., and will optimize the division’s sales and operations planning (S&OP) process from sourcing through production, distribution and sales. The objective of WAM’s solution is to provide advanced optimization, global visibility, and highly accurate, real-time performance metrics. The solution will integrate to FMC’s SAP system via WAM’s certified interfaces, providing information accuracy and timeliness. In addition, with the increased visibility expected over its supply chain operations, FMC looks to gain increased control over maintaining strong revenues and profitability of their key product lines, which will contribute to strengthening their already solid market position.
“FMC’s Peroxygens Division has worked hard to maintain our high value position in the marketplace during volatile periods and we are focused on continuing to do so well into the future,” said Sujan Ghosh, Supply Chain Director for FMC Peroxygens. “We selected WAM’s Picaso solution to provide a highly accurate simulation of our planned business performance that we believe will bring greater clarity to the metrics that we use to drive our Sales and Operations Planning.”
“We have worked with FMC’s planning leaders to fully understand the potential of their improvement vision,” said John Kamal, Chief Operating Officer of WAM Systems. “We have jointly launched into a project which is focused squarely on optimization of profitability and which demands the type of enhanced data management and decision support for which our Picaso solution was built. We are pleased that FMC has selected our solution for their needs and are confident that they will emerge from this project fully realizing the high performance goals they have set.”
WAM Systems is working closely with the planning team at FMC to support its four-month timeline for implementing the solution. The project is scheduled for completion by August 2009.
